Plate Porn

The studio is having its annual holiday ceramics sale this weekend, so I have been busy making, glazing, and firing a bunch of new pieces for that as well as filling several orders that have come in since the last plate-related post. (Thanks, Zoomie). Here’s a rundown of the most recent batch, beginning with these oval dinner plates for friends in Boston.

Next up, more of the blue-black four-sided bowls that positively scream for ice cream:

Another teapot with cups, this time glazed a solid color:

Medium-sized bowls (about 6″ across) for another order:

Some freeform small bowls 6″-8″ across; the first is a one-off, the second is one of a set of four:

Steely grey dishes about 5″ square made from a clay that fires almost black:

Three serving bowls, about a foot across, glazed three different ways:

Here’s another look at the inside of that first serving bowl, because it’s pretty:

Some little amuse bouche spoons, for tiny tartares and the like:

And a couple of larger boat-shaped plates to match the smaller ones:

There are some more, but I have to go make dinner. The sale is this weekend, so if any of this grabs you let me know before I load the car.

    Jo: Thanks for your order.

Anna: Yes, the plates and bowls are yours. The smaller red bowls are done, too, as is the circle bowl. I’ll let you know when the last two fire. Thanks for your enthusiastic support. Now go play Rock Band.
